In their own words

I bought this A4 to replace my mid-life crisis car which was an Audi S1. As much as I loved the S1, it was very expensive to run and I needed something more economical and practical.

I've always loved the look of the B9 A4 saloon and opted for the 2.0Tdi 150bhp manual version. Ideally I wanted the 190bhp one as I thought the drop from 230bhp in the S1 would be too much to bear while obviously appreciating they are completed different kind of cars. I couldn't find a 190bhp version within budget so settled for the less powerful option.

I was pleasantly surprised by the performance. Ok, it's not push back in the seat acceleration like the S1 but it's torquey enough. And it is so refined. So quiet on fast roads when cruising. Fuel tank could be bigger but that's because of the pesky AdBlue tank.

I absolutely love it. Had the cambelt done (and water pump) due to Audi recommendations but because it was being problematic.

Only issue I've had, which is intermittent and only recently is that in a low gear, there's sometimes a juddering when reaching the biting point. Clutch isn't slipping so I'm hoping it's not that or the DMF. Booked in for investigation soon.

So, to sum up. The A4 is a lovely refined and comfortable car. Some say it is boring which I do understand but in my opinion it looks the part and the interior is very nice. I'll be keeping it for years.
