Bentley Turbo R Saloon
  • Economy

    Value

    3 out of 5 3.0

Although I wasn't the owner, only the driver, the depreciation was equaliviant to a new Mondeo every year! My employer bought his after 1 year and paid £60 less than the retail prrice when new!

    Costs

    3 out of 5 3.0

It is a luxury car, in proportion to its purchase price, the running costs excluding fuel were resonable. 15mpg is good for a car the size and weight of a small truck with the comfort of a five star hotel.

    Driving

    5 out of 5 5.0

Superb, as a professional chauffeur it was amongst the best. It was equally good on country lanes, central London and even on a skid pan (Security Training Course).

    Performance

    5 out of 5 5.0

Other than a Bristol or maybe a AMG E55, nothing can beat it.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    3 out of 5 3.0

Electrics, the battery and alternator is the weak part of the car.

    Image

    5 out of 5 5.0

It is a Bentley, so the image is better than a 'Royce' (Never call a Rolls Royce a Rolls, Royce was the engineer!)

    Comfort

    5 out of 5 5.0

It is a four seater rather than a nornal five seater. The seats are more comfortable than a decent three piece suite.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    5 out of 5 5.0

This Bentley had been fitted with speical security and anti-hijack features so it was very secure.

    Service

    4 out of 5 4.0

My employer at the time was very happy with Jack Barclay at Nine Elms, Battersea. The courtesy car was somestimes a Royce.
