BMW 1-Series Hatchback 118i M Sport Dual-clutch auto 5d Owner Review

We thought we wanted another Audi A3 but were really disappointed with the amount of hard plastic surfaces, some with unforgiving edges in the current model. We tried the Mercedes A series which although nicer inside than the A3, felt a little lightweight. However, we were blown away by the excellent quality and build standard of the wee BMW. This model is front wheel drive which suits us as we live where winters can get icy and snowy. We were surprisingly disappointed with the manual gearbox so went for the auto which is superb. It's fair to say all three makes drive really well. The wee three pot 1.5 BMW petrol engine is a gem for its size. Our decision came down to the fit and quality of finish of the car. Audi sadly ain't as convincing as they used to be (we've had 5 excellent Audis in the past)!
