Value
Depends how you look at it! Initially expensive but resale values high, so your money is safe.
Costs
Better than previous models. Genuine BMW parts still very reasonable given the quality.

Driving
Very smooth and secure. Quite sterile due to over-assisted steering.
Performance
Significantly more powerful than previous 2.5, 2.3 and 2.8 engines. Revised chassis and ASC+T removes the need for caution in the wet. Almost impossible to loose in the dry if driving hard (make sure you choose the 19" wheel and associated tyre option).

Living with it
Reliability
As with all things mechanical, BMW are not totally immune to failures. Irritating faults still present (ash tray lid, door alignment and fingerprints in the sealed dash display!). Fortunately, BMW will put all this right under warranty.

Classy, sporty and desirable. Drivers of other marques still won't let you out of junctions. Jealousy is still the standard reaction… what a shame!
