Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

In their own words

Really this is too soon to be writing a review but the car is so unique, even now after 8 years of manufacture - how many other cars can one say that about? Truly a game-changer (and from the unexpected source - BMW are not usually innovators). Aluminium chassis, carbon fibre tub and panels and a superb interior of recycled materials. I won't say too much about the environmental aspect since all cars contribute to environmental harm; but I hope this cars' carbon footprint is less than a comparable ICE car. Having the car with me now; I have no regrets; the car is simply awesome and I still look at newly-launched electric cars from other car-makers and know that the i3 really is the best of the crop. Others may have longer ranges (180 miles if fine for me) but the interiors leave me cold - and yes, I looked at most. This is an opportunity for car-manufacturers to think laterally and be creative but most simply churn out 'same old' ICE models but with batteries. Looking at the Chinese market and models coming from there, I think European, US and Japanese auto-makers should be worried. The Chinese brands are far-sighted, design-led and uncompromising. I look ahead to a couple of years or more when I am due to change cars, and I have to worry about the car that BMW will use to replace the i3 and I fear it will be a mini-3-series with a blanked out grille which will not be a pretty sight and, as yet, no other electric model appeals much to me, so am relying on Geely, Wey or SAIC to flood the Euro market with their electric cars. So you see I am not a BMW person at all. I am not Chinese but I admire any car-maker who pushes the boundaries. So far I love my BMW i3.

How reliable do you find the car?

Far too soon to pass judgement.

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

I wanted an electric car which doesn't look like an ICE car with the old engine taken out and a battery unit installed and a blanking plate over the grille.
