  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

It says that you like to be noticed and stand out from the crowd with beautiful styling that leaves the Germans way behind. Sleek and gorgeous.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Wife hated it originally saying it looked too aggressive in red with those triple headlights and pointed nose. Now she loves it and wants to get one too. My twenty something children give it a big thumbs up for styling and desirability. My son now wants a sporty looking car but is buying a BMW Z3 instead.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Absolutely for reliability, running costs are good on insurance just over £300 per year fully comprehensive. Very comfortable to drive and everything within easy reach. Get it polished and valeted professionally and you would not want to be seen in anything else.

What are you likely to buy next?

Thought about a Spider or Brera. Juliet and Mito too girly for me.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £5,000

When did you buy the car?

    January 2014

Did you get a good deal and why?

Couple of faults rectified prior to hand over. Was originally priced at £5500 so got it for 500 less. Full Alfa service history so very happy with that.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

    Styling and road presence.

    What was the dealer like?

Friendly enough but then they always are until they have your money and then beware. Unhappy that they turned around and changed the price for my trade in. Very unhappy about that after we had agreed. Under normal circumstances I would have said keep the car, but I had fallen in love with it!!

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Love it. Now that she is re-mapped there is plenty of power through the range and eats similar size BMW and Audi for breakfast. Eats up the miles on motorway with effortless ease and all the gauges and dials are angled towards the driver which is great.

    What's it like to park?

Surprisingly easy. Again the parking sensors are a God send. Just a little niggle in that if you looking to left prior to pulling out of a junction you struggle to see whats coming so be careful.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

One headlamp light bulb, three new tyres (eats them up but only cost £60 a corner if you dont mind budget tyres). Failed MOT on loose battery strap and cv joint rubber gaiter had a hole in it. All repaired by local corner garage for buttons. Replaced CV joint on the front. That aside absolutely no issues with the car whatsoever.

What's most practical about your car?

So far working under the bonnet is dead easy, everything easy to reach.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Had it re-mapped for £250. Increased BHP from 150 to 189 and torque to 300N. What a difference, for a diesel it goes like the clappers. Everyone should re-map their Alfa's. Favourite gadget are rear sensors, especially when the wife is driving.
