Summary

4 out of 5

What does this car say about you?
I don't really care what it says about me. Its practical !!

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
I don't know really, though they generally say whats that? Probably because Chevrolet haven't had that much UK exposure or advertising.

Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes I would: space, comfort and a feeling of being well protected! My only issue is fuel consumption: 32 mpg on local runs and 40+ mpg cruising.

What are you likely to buy next?
If I could get another good deal on the same model, I'd go for the Captiva LTZ again.

Driving it

What's it like to drive?
Generally pretty good. Cornering and handling are spot on. It cruises well on long drives and is good on the motorway, though tyre noise and the hard suspension are an issue at high speeds. A generally quick car, but I do take issue with the time lag there is between putting your foot down and moving away from a standing start: there does appear to be a 'disconnect' between the accelerator and auto gear box: a bit disconcerting when you pulling out of a junction etc and takes a bit of getting used to. Power is generally good: it kicks down well to overtake and has the feeling it could go on forever! Essentially a comfortable car to drive.

What's it like to park?
For a reasonably large SUV, it is really quite manouverable: with the good wing mirrors and reversing camera you can put it on sixpence.

Have you had any problems with the car?
I've had it for 11 months, and there have been no problems at all with it. It will be due for a 'free' service (?) in early march.

What's most practical about your car?
Accessibility. Seats fold down to give a very good cargo space that I need for my job.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
I'm not a gadget man, though the reversing camera is very helpful.
