  • Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

I'm not a chav. I don't like Minis and can pick a better car.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They all love it. It's a limited edition with limited grey paint and tan leather seats and everyone thinks it's a great looking car. Most are surprised it will outrun a Mini Cooper.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Definitely. Cheap to buy, cheap to insure (group 8, compared to about 14 in all other cars with similar performance), great looking, no problems.

What are you likely to buy next?

I've got this for at least 3 years now so I've no idea. Something similar though.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchise

Did you buy this car new?

    Yes

    What price did you pay?

    £10,825

When did you buy the car?

    May 2008

Did you get a good deal and why?

It's cheaper than a VTS but has more equipment so it's a great deal to begin with. It's basically a VTS with grey pearlescent paint, stripes on the roof and heated leather seats.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

You can't get a new car that's faster but cheaper.

    What was the dealer like?

Excellent. Really helpful and friendly. Explained every last little detail without being patronising.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Not a lot happens until you're above 3500rpm but then it flies. Revs to about 7000rpm. Suspension is fairly hard so it's good in corners but on bumpy roads it can get a bit uncomfortable. Not massively so though. Seats are perfectly comfy. On a 400+ mile round trip, I didn't feel uncomfortable for a second. Digital speedo is a good idea but I do miss having a normal dial.

    What's it like to park?

Not as tight a turning circle as my old Saxo but still good. Steering is incredibly light at low speeds.

  • Living with it

    5 out of 5 5.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Nothing at all. If anything had gone wrong, it would've been picked up in the free 1000mile service.

What's most practical about your car?

Split tailgate is great. Tiny boot though but I didn't buy this car for it's practicality.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Heated leather seats will be perfect for winter. The extra steering assist is brilliant when you're moving really slowly. It makes it really easy to park.
