What does this car say about you?

I have kids (look iside it for evidence...).

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

My brother in law bought one which he is very please with as his is as reliable as ours, and our friends are considering one as of march 2012 as their old car is dead and they have heard how good ours has been.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Without hesitation, it simply has not gone wrong in 100k of motoring apart from the accident (not its fault) and 2 brake cylinders at the back. Also its fantastically economical (average 48mpg on a commute inc crawling off the M62 into Liverpool every morning).

What are you likely to buy next?

We will replace my wife's Ford Focus with a 7 seater MPV, Sedona or Galaxy but the Picasso will stay with us until it expires. Apparently 240k is not uncommon according to the MOT garage.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchised

Did you buy this car new?

    Yes

    What price did you pay?

    £11,300

When did you buy the car?

    March 2003

Did you get a good deal and why?

Great deal, it was pre registered and the dealer would not budge on price as it was a good deal at the time. The only issue was it was late in delivery by 3 weeks due to snow in Scotland where it was stored and in that time the camshaft on my part ex to be (xantia) snapped wreaking the engine...

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Good deal, it was pre registered and we wanted to replace our ageing Xantia. Also we where planning a familly and needed a decent small MPV.

    What was the dealer like?

Very friendly as you would expect.

  • Driving it

    What's it like to drive?

I now use it to commute to Liverpool from Warrington area ever day and its easy to drive, comfy and quick enough. I got used to the legendary blind spot easily, I have had worst cars for that. Also used it to tow a large caravan which it did with ease.

    What's it like to park?

I don't have a problem parking it as I am used to its dimensions. Due to the height I find I can squeeze into small gaps as I can see where its going.

Have you had any problems with the car?

It has had usual servicing and 2 rear brake cylinders since new, never failed to start or given a days trouble.

What's most practical about your car?

Space inside with or without the seats in. Easy to remove the seats and we can get tons inside. Brilliant with 3 kids inside it.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Honestly: The Airbags. We had a 55 mph crash when a twit in a 406 did an illegal U-Turn when we had had it for about 3 months; he was done by the police. Our car's near side front headlight area hit the front wing of his car removing everything including the radiator and our airbags went off. The picasso had to have 6 months of repairs (had it been 2 months older they would have written it off) including a new subframe as the near side front wheel was pushed into the footwell. We walked away with bruising and I had trapped nerves in my back but the Police said had it been our replaced Xantia we would have had to have been cut out of it....
