  • Economy

    Value

    3 out of 5 3.0

Setting aside any reliability issues, you get plenty of ""toys""...elec. sunroof, elec. windows all round, aircon, trip computer, etc.

    Costs

    2 out of 5 2.0

Servicing costs were average, but once the faults start to appear, you had better hide your wallet!

  • On the road

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

Very good handling and comfortable ride, very nice for long journeys.

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

    Decent performance for a diesel!

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    1 out of 5 1.0

Expect turbo problems which appear to be common on the DCi models. Mine is now on its 4th unit....

    Image

Some might say it's just a Renault, but it has a certain look and style that sets it apart. I like the look, just a shame about the reliability.

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

Ride is not too firm and not as soft and wallowy as other (older) French cars...very good for long journeys along A and B class roads as well as motorways.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    3 out of 5 3.0

No better or worse than any other I suppose....it never got nicked and never got broken into. Has Cat. 1 alarm as standard.

    Service

    2 out of 5 2.0

When the problems start - and they most likely will - don't expect much by way of support from Renault.

  • Problems and Ownership

    Problems

    Engine

I'll put turbo units in here...these things just love to eat up the odd turbo - I'm now on my 4th having only done 44k miles. And they are not cheap...read the Parker's forums and you'll see this is a common problem!

    Other

Discs and calipers were replaced, and rear suspension bushes seem to have a very short life. :-(

    Ownership

Did you buy the car new?

    Used

Would you buy the same model again?

    No

Did you buy from the same manufacturer again?
