Other Vauxhall Corsa (2006 - 2014) models:

  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

A bit of sportiness mingled with sencible economics, a bit like Andy Murray in Prime-mark slacks?

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Depends if they're the ones i've just pulled out in front of on a busy roundabout, probably not allowed to write it here? Otherwise, they like it.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Quite possibly, they are a good valued car, apart from the horrendous turbo lag- hence the 3 stars on living with & driving.

What are you likely to buy next?

Possibly something bigger but also economical, the family is growing older and we'll need something to cope with that.

  • Buying experience

    5 out of 5 5.0

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £5,999

When did you buy the car?

    November 2012

Did you get a good deal and why?

We brought from a car supermarket, so reletively good price although we did get rock bottom price for a trade in which is to be expected.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

A small economical diesel with 5 doors.

    What was the dealer like?

They were ok, Available Car at Castle Donington, although you do feel as though if you don't buy it doesn't matter, they'll be somebody else through the door as they have a very quick turn over, on the plus side, there's very little hard sell that comes with that!

  • Driving it

    3 out of 5 3.0

    What's it like to drive?

Cruising on the motorway is great, though this car is most probably designed for the town which is where the issue of turbo lag takes it's toll, If you don't have the rev's above 2000rpm then your not going anywhere fast which makes for some invigorating moments when you commit to entering a busy roundabout, and yes i know they'll be somebody with adenoids saying that you should be paying attention to your driving but in the real world you're generally shouting "`no, were not nearly there yet/ hold it in there's a toilet at the next services" to the kids/wife/yourself. When you're in the right gear at the right time then its fairly nippy, you just have to work the gears a lot. Might also add that the steering is very crisp!

    What's it like to park?

Front window pillars do sometimes obstruct your vision due the their size but ultimatly It's a little Corsa, no issues apart from driver incapability!

  • Living with it

    3 out of 5 3.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Couple of minor faults that come with day to day running, certainly nothing worth mentioning.

What's most practical about your car?

Economy, @ 480 miles to a tank of Shell diesel, and thats with combination of town, A roads & motorway driving. You can also fit family of four in there for a day trip with comfort, obviously that would depend on the "size" of the individuel!

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

SXI seats, they're not bucket seats but are extremly supportive when you get energetic around corners!
