  • Summary

    3 out of 5 3.0

What does this car say about you?

    In two words, 'sales representative.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

That's the point, nothing. You gain no street cred from neighbour, friend or foe. One feels you're considered 'bland'. As that's also as I see the car, I'm inclined to agree how you could be tarred with the same brush.

Would you buy this car again and why?

No. I enjoy motoring and getting from A to B is only part of that experience. I like to make the journey a bit more pleasurable.

What are you likely to buy next?

Just done it! Lexus IS-250 SE-L. To early to review but initial signs are I'm falling back in love with driving.

  • Buying experience

    5 out of 5 5.0

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £10,500

When did you buy the car?

    September 2013

Did you get a good deal and why?

I thinks so. For a garage that is! The car was low mileage and A1 condition and the price very competitive. Wherever your purchase your vehicle it is impossible to answer as to if the 'deal was good' until you've owned it for a while. I have and hence can make that judgement. No faults to date sailed through it's first ever MOT.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

The statistics added up, reliability, miles per gallon & value for money.

    What was the dealer like?

Definitely a 'production line' but no complaints, price was good, (compared with other dealers), and above all, massive, (and I mean 'massive') savings over a franchised dealership.

    What's it like to drive?

Buying this car is unlikely to put a smile on your face as your peer at it from the bedroom. This car is a 'Ronseal' car. You get what it says on the tin! It lives up to every expectation except one. That 'one' is the enjoyment of driving it. The engine will propel you to the speed you desire without effort and return the MPG it says it will. The Satnav is first class and the automatic gear box is, well, an automatic gearbox. But let's be brutally frank. The engine noise and rough gear change equate to one thing. It's like driving a 'bag of nails'. So I guess if you want something that gets you from A to B, looks great, and does what is says it should, then this could suit you. If you want something to give you pleasure then avoid it like the plague.

    What's it like to park?

No problem at all. This model had parking sensors all round. I would add that it probably needs them.

Have you had any problems with the car?

Nothing at all. Very reliable all round.

What's most practical about your car?

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Would have to be the Satnav. First class on these cars.
