Other Chevrolet Lacetti (2005 - 2011) models:

  • Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

It says "practical family man" (which is true). I feel happy that as far as I can see the only significant difference between this car and practically identical rivals (Ford, Peugeot, Vauxhall etc) is that the Chevvy was £1-2000 cheaper. My advantage!

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Everybody likes the look of it (it is quite smart) and they think it costs a lot more than it did.

Would you buy this car again and why?

I would certainly think of the updated model/version, or equivalent car from Chevrolet.

What are you likely to buy next?

When we stop doing the big drive family holidays then I thinks we'll get by with something a bit smaller, the hatchback version perhaps.

  • Buying experience

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchised

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £4,500

When did you buy the car?

    June 2013

Did you get a good deal and why?

It was a fair price for an affordable car.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

This model is very practical with lots of luggage space. I liked the look of the car and the one I bought had very low mileage.

    What was the dealer like?

    Very professional.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Very stable drive; the 1.8 engine delivers sufficient power and it accelerates well. The well-sprung suspension and the auto gearbox make it a smooth ride. Relatively tight turning circle.

    What's it like to park?

Quite nimble in crowded car parks, and certainly no more difficult to park than any other station wagon.

Have you had any problems with the car?

There have been no problems at all, everything works fine. From my previous car I was used to checking oil, types etc but this one needs no maintenance at all, the MOT and service come and go without hitch.

What's most practical about your car?

You can get the whole family and holiday luggage in, and still get an 80+ turn of speed out of it. Relatively good mpg (about 39).

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The heating/aircon works extremely well. There is a good sound system, anti-mist wing mirrors & dimmable dashboard. The extra power plug in the boot means the kids can still play a DVD on the laptop for long journeys. Lots of other extras too.
