Divorced single Dad ... cheap and cheerful!

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

The kids love it and encourage me in song to "drive my chevvy to the levvy ...".

Would you buy this car again and why?

Possibly not, I was surprised by the high Road Tax (my old 4L Land Rover was cheaper than this 1.8 engine) and for what I consider to be a small engine. it is not particularly economical; I get a bit less that 30 mpg out of it.

Did you get a good deal and why?

I thought 3 years old with 8000 on the clock for £4800 was a good deal. Now I just keep wondering why SWs from comparable makers cost twice what I paid!

What's it like to drive?

Fine, it will cruise at 80, but won't go above.

What's it like to park?

I am used to parking a 4L Land Rover Discovery, so I just miss the visibility. Those not used to SW or 4X4 will find it quite long to park.

Have you had any problems with the car?

It needed new front brake shoes after my first 1000 which I thought was fast after only 9000 in all, plus the dealers full service should have picked up on that.

What's most practical about your car?

Plenty of space, especially with the back seats down.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The air-com works well. Every inch of space is used well, like extra storage in the sides of the boot. Some bits are OTT, like the sunglasses-holder above the driver door.
