Chrysler Grand Voyager (2008 - 2015) 2.8 CRD Touring 5d Auto Owner Review

2.8 CRD Touring 5d Auto
Chrysler Grand Voyager

Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

In their own words

There are few cars out there that offer seven seats and all of the toys that a Grand Voyager does ( I also owned a Hyundai i800 which offered one more seat and better luggage space but none of the items the GV does no cruise, electric doors, leather as standard, power seats, video system stow and go seats, etc) Yes there are VW Caravelles and Mercedes V class but the will cost twenty to thirty thousand more then the GV was when it was sold here. The main issue with the car is reliability, down mainly to poor design due to cost cutting and as Chrysler withdrew from Europe things like updates to the computer system and recalls just stopped. This plus many garages not really prepared to work on the car as they don’t have the equipment and dealer network which was Mercedes when this car was new and they really don’t want to know or have Chrysler trained technicians However if you are prepared to live with these short comings you will have a rare car and one that owners who keep them generally love

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

This model was when Fiat bought over Chrysler/Jeep I previously had a 2004 limited but it had around 200,000 miles on it so needed a newer car This model shows that accountants had taken a very large knife to the vehicle as it is not as well made as the previous model There is a distinct drop in build quality (although an increase in price!) that is reflected in niggles mainly electrical although body parts are poorly constructed. The front wings have rusted at the front edge I have not had that on a car since the seventies. It’s something you don’t expect on a car in the 21st Century and even in dry states in the US they are having this happening, reminds me of 1970s Fiats?
