Value
I got a mechanically sound one for £300. Though now starting to go wrong.
Costs
Parts are expensive, though can be sourced cheap from a breakers yard. Fuel economy excellent.

Great ride, smooth as a baby's bottom.
Performance
Easily keeps up with modern 1.4 16V around town, though lags behind from 40mph. Nice turn of speed from 70mph.

Always gets me home, but sometimes only just. For £300, still very good, but old car syndrome kicks in.

The only car you can sit in for 5 hours straight and not get backache for less than £100k.
