  • Summary

What does this car say about you?

Like to be a little different?.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Seem to like it. The most common statement made is that it is the most stylish estate on the market at present.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Not sure. The attempt at being German does put me off. The interior fit would not appear to be of the quality of the Mark1 and the dash layout is too bland (too German) for my liking. The Mark1 had more interior style and thought given to it. Possibly the biggest faults with the interior is the light reflections on the speedometer, leaving it difficult to read on bright days; the fiddly controls on the steering wheel and especially for the heater and air con; and the shaped rear seats are not designed to easily accept child seats.

What are you likely to buy next?

Don't know, but another Citroen would be high on the list so long as they ditch this fixation of being like the German brands.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchised

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £0

When did you buy the car?

    December 2012

Did you get a good deal and why?

Probably. If it had not been I would not have bought.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Had owned a Mark 1 C5 and was very impressed with its comfort, driving pleasure and reliability (187,000 miles), and the current C5 model is sufficiently different in looks from the herd. Was initially put off however by the 'German-like' claims made by Citroen. Citroen buyers like Citroen because they are typically French, not because they are German like.

    What was the dealer like?

Excellent and good to his word.

  • Driving it

    What's it like to drive?

Pretty good. It feels a little more sure footed than the Mark 1 model, though probably not quite as comfortable. It has good mid-range pull and although slower on paper than the Mark1 it does feel quicker.

    What's it like to park?

Fine. It is a large car and I do find that the standard parking bays can be tight especially in terms of length and you need to be aware of the long front body overhang.
