I wanted a 2nd hand French diesel and the Xsara was at least £1,500 cheaper than the equivalent aged Peugeot or Renault and much better equipped with longer service intervals.

Unbelievably cheap to buy for a modern car.

Driving
Smooth, easy steering and good grip through corners. Gearchange a bit notchy, but fine once you're used to it.
Performance
Great on the motorway...bit bumpy in town, good fuel economy.
