Dependable motoring for the money.
Costs
Citroen prices are not too bad, but can be bettered at German, Swedish and French, maintenance is not complicated so private mechanic a wise choice. Will wear front tyres quicker than a petrol model.

Reliability
Very little has gone wrong on my '93 150k. Always starts well, and everything has worked pretty well all the time!

It has dated for sure, but its functional shape still looks better today than any of its contemporaries.
Comfort
Great comfort on long journeys, and rear seats are some of the best i know. Interior is functional and works well

No standard alarm or immobilisor. Coded radio (make sure you know the code!) and spare weel is carried in a cage under the back. Bottom line is people don't want to nick this car!
Service
I only used the parts department for this car. Never any problems with this service. However a very expensive quote for changing the lower arms forced me to do it myself.

Lower wishbone bushes went once, trackrod ends twice, throttle and handbrake cable and a set of front disks. Needed to replace rear demister relay.
