In their own words

With a car of this age you should expect a car with at least average mileage. With that being said, unless the previous owners have kept the car in tip top condition and service, there will be work to do to make it a daily runner. Mine came to me with very low mileage of 43,000 miles. Had been kept in storage by the previous owner to me for several years. By the time I acquired the car it needed a medium mechanical recommission mainly due to not being used. After fitting a new cambelt kit including tensioner, new clutch kit including release bearing, clutch slave and master cylinders, brake servo, brake master cylinder, front brake calipers and flexi brake pipes, front tyres and lastly followed with an engine service before mot. After all works complete the car is now my daily driver. It's a lovely drive with the 1.6 petrol engine. Very quiet engine, and surprisingly economical with average 37-40 miles per gallon around town. Interior is comfortable and you can get enough shopping in the boot for two people for over a week. The rear seats fold down so you can get most flat pack Ikea parcels in the cabrio without the roof down. Easily keeps up with traffic around town and has plenty of power for motorway use. The nice thing about this cabrio, is that it will comfortable transport 5 people with plenty of legroom for all. This is a small cabrio, so it's super nice that it is family friendly. The only downside to the car is that there are only a handful of these on the road. Therefore, some parts will take you longer to find.. Would I recommend this car? Yes and no! Yes, if you are handy with tools, and you can do your own repairs. This will then be a very cheap reliable car. No, unless you can find one in tip top condition and service, as it will cost you a lot of money to pay a garage to make it into a daily driver. If it's a daily driver when you buy it, you must test drive the car yourself before purchase to make sure everything works and performs well. These are now becoming a good long term investment that you can still use and enjoy. It's one of the best cheap family cars with a soft top to boot.
