Fiat Punto Cabriolet
  • Economy

    Value

    5 out of 5 5.0

I bought it on e-Bay and have had nothing but fun from it ever since. And it's practical, too, even with 2 small children to fit in.

    Costs

    4 out of 5 4.0

Order parts from specialist online firms, get a local garage to fit them and avoid main dealers' extortionate prices.

  • On the road

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

Precise handling sometimes marred by body flex, but not much.

    Performance

    5 out of 5 5.0

Nippy and fast if you keep using the gearbox. Quick off the mark unless it's fully loaded with people.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    5 out of 5 5.0

It has performed absolutely magnificently so far. With a mere 42k miles on the clock it has been well looked after. Regular oil changes and servicing keep it in top notch condition and prolong its life.

My children tell me its the coolest car they've been in. And it has that extra rarity value, one of only 5,000 ( or was it 56,000?) - who cares? I haven't seen another yet...

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

Fine, even for taller drivers, but I wish the seat would adjust in height.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    2 out of 5 2.0

Not much, but then it's a soft top so what do you expect?

    Service

    1 out of 5 1.0

I've never taken it near a Fiat dealer.
