  • Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

it said nothing about me, it was my fathers. but in a car that cost this much to buy and so little on any work for it i couldn't care less. It says that Fiats are not unreliable. at all. I bet this one is still on the road. L186KNV. If you see it, i told you so.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

the neighbours car looks a right old banger next to it, and its 5 years newer (R reg Mondeo estate). Those that have been in it have said it can be noisy but you have to bear in mind its a diesel. most of the family never went in it as they lived 400 miles away.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes i would, providing its on the road now or even still in the scrappy i would buy it now as it never let us down and when we had a lump of a successor for it (Renault Scenic) it made us realize just what a great car it was. For the money we paid we should have been taken to court - it was a steal.

What are you likely to buy next?

I'm 16 abd looking for a prov next May - so one of these with an Insurance Group of 10isn't ideal - we have a decent Toyota Aygo that i'm now interested in, or maybe a Yaris - but in the future i will have no problems at all in buying it or another Tempra.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

we needed a bigger car for the dog and the Renault 19 we had was aging a bit at this stage, the MOT had just expired and tax due and needed the car.

    What's it like to drive?

sadly i don't know, it was my fathers, but i did go in it often and can say for a diesel it wasn't slow, i remember overtaking an M3 at 90mph on the M4 so that should say it all.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

nope. the car has been trouble free. in 6 years and 175k miles the only thing that went wrong was the alternator going and a corroded exhaust. sadly failed the MOT on corroded suspension or something and there was no part for it. We scrapped it June 05 but were told if they get the part in it will have no problem what so ever going back on the road.

What's most practical about your car?

the fact that it seats 5 comfortably and that it has never failed us

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

the digital dash. this was unusual in a car and we haven't had it in one since, which is a shame.
