Fiat Uno
  • Economy

    Value

    4 out of 5 4.0

Good, basic, practical car for cheap money.

    Costs

    5 out of 5 5.0

Cheap to buy, easy to gain parts from scrap yards. Very, very economical on fuel, cheap insurance, etc.

  • On the road

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

Not fast, but feels fast, until you see grandmas in Micras and farmers in tractors overtaking you. Great fun in a weird sort of way. You'll never get a speeding fine!

    Performance

    2 out of 5 2.0

Slow acceleration. Low top speed. Needs pushing up hills.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    5 out of 5 5.0

Very reliable. Not much to go wrong.

    Image

    2 out of 5 2.0

Not bought for image, but it's like why people buy Italian cars: it's different from the mainstream (eg. Fiesta, Nova, Polo, Metro).

    Comfort

    5 out of 5 5.0

Five star easily. It's not just comfortable for a small car, it IS comfortable. Inches of headroom, legroom, easy access, comfy seats, etc.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    1 out of 5 1.0

No features. Well, the steering wheel locks when ignition is off, which is like a luxury item on a car this basic.

    Service

    3 out of 5 3.0

Only used dealer once to obtain new part. Heard they're not up to much good and everywhere else is just as efficient and cheaper.

  • Problems and Ownership

    Problems

    Engine

Very good, although as the Parkers guide mentions, it doesn't start with ease in cold and damp.

    Other

Handbrake works, but could be better - not a major problem.

Did you buy the car new?

Did you buy from the same manufacturer again?
