Ford C-MAX review

Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

In their own words

There is little to dislike about this car. My previous car being a 2 litre manual was also a C-Max which I chose as a tow car for my caravan. Whilst this one is a 2 litre powershift automatic, I bought it solely on it's age and mileage. I expect the same excellent towing capability from this vehicle. I have never driven an automatic before so I cannot compare this gearbox with another automatic box. However, it is already apparent that it sometimes changes down when you know you would not do so if driving a manual. This can be irritating but there is always the manual over-ride. But even the manual will be over-ridden by the automatic system if you drive too slowly in too high a gear and vice-versa. This is a good point as is the car's ability to crawl at a speed which would require lots of clutch dipping on a manual. Overall, an impressive vehicle whose fuel consumption does not fall far short of the official consumption figures.

How reliable do you find the car?

Fuel leakage halfway along fuel pipe. Close examination suggested a manufacturing defect.

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

The fact that it is my second C-Max in a row says it all.
