Value
Good when new, but avoid any second hand Escorts unless history is known.
Costs
Something always goes wrong if not looked after properly through regular servicing.

Driving
Handles quite well, does have a little body roll at times.
Performance
Engine for a 1.6 Zetec is very slow. Have to really accelerate hard through gears.

Reliability
Sick to death of changing lower wishbones. Rubbers in them do not last five minutes same as Fiesta, Mondeo and old Focus.
Comfort
Does soak up most bumps for a comfortable ride.

Do not buy an early model pre 1990. Usual one Ford key fits all later models better with key code immobilisers.
