paid £1000 quid for a 96 3dr with 70k and full ford history. Mine also has the safety pack with passenger airbag and rear head rests. absolutely mint inside and out, good buy. they can be picked up pretty cheap these days
Costs
nothing yet except oil and filter and plugs, I get about 60 miles to £10 of juice around town, cost me £35 quid to do 330 miles on motorway, good

On the road
Driving
Not bad at all. front can slide if pushed to hard when its slippery, steering pretty precise and not too light, quite low geared 3k revs at 70
Performance
Pretty bland under 3.5k, when you hit 4k it pulls very well for an 1800, watch the wheelspin in 1st in the rain though! I think ford could of squeezed a bit more poke out of it.

Hasn't failed me yet, touch wood. Feels quite solid, I have only had it 6 months.

Dated compared to modern stuff obviously, still turns heads though and looks sporty and pleasant. have seen a few lowered with 17" wheels and look pretty good if that's your thing.
Comfort
Winged seats hold you in very well and I don't think many will complain about comfort about town. they did make my lower back ache a bit after five hours on the motorway, evens seats in a jag would I think. adjustable steering wheel helps as well

average. its got an immobiliser and dead locking, locking wheel nuts too, cant really ask for much more for a grand

Can't really say because I would never take it to fords. find yourself a trustworthy garage and save shed loads.

Seems sound, doesn't smoke, rattle or use oil, goes well.
Other
Boot space is reasonable, variable intermittent wipe. Generally a good car for the money. If your thinking of one then try to get a low mileage minter. You will be pleasantly surprised.
