    Value

    5 out of 5 5.0

£10k cheaper than a Japanese diesel equivalent, that only manages 2-3 MPG more.

    Costs

    3 out of 5 3.0

High fuel bills offset by reasonable servicing and parts.

  • On the road

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

At its best cruising, where the smooth engine and imposing height actually slow you down to enjoy the trip. Gets choppy and a little nervous on bends and B roads.

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

Surprisingly good acceleration for a metal shed on wheels.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    5 out of 5 5.0

No reason, where is that wood, to complain

    Comfort

    3 out of 5 3.0

Huge amount of space to spread out in, but requires a long time spent on the electric adjusters to find a comfortable seat position. A relatively low waist line means the kids can see out and the height of the car makes for a good view.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    4 out of 5 4.0

Has the gadgets but only a ram raider would want to steal it.

    Service

    5 out of 5 5.0

I have used 2 Main dealers as i feel Ford will be better able to help with a big, complicated and relatively rare car. Both Times have been very good. The nice added extras like valetting are missing but the low costs, so far, have justified this.
