Considering Shoguns, Discoverys etc for the same age my Explorer was about £4000 cheaper.

A lot of car for sensible money.

Not much room for your left foot. If you don't keep it out of the way it can get trapped under the brake pedal when braking. Rear suspension a bit hard, but perfect when towing.

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

Quick initial exceleration. Quite fast for something that weighs over two tons.

    Reliability

    4 out of 5 4.0

Engine has been faultless. After owning other Ford Autos I am very pleased with this one. Had trouble with central locking sticking. Windscreen washer works intermitently.

Some magazines comment that it is too American looking. I think it is pleasing to look at and I personaly like the chrome detail.

    Comfort

    A little cramped driving position.

I have added locking wheel nuts.

I think most Ford dealers aren't the experts they think they are.
