Other Ford Fiesta (2008 - 2017) models:

  • Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

    Nothing really.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Having downsized, a few questioned the logic of choosing a Fiesta, however since they have got in it and had a spin they are impressed. I've had a few VW/Audi drivers commenting on the build quality of the interior and they seem to struggle to see the difference in build quality with their cars.

Would you buy this car again and why?

I would. It's cheap to run, quick, quiet on the motorway and has a high standard of perceived build quality.

What are you likely to buy next?

Not sure. I've only just got this one, not thinking about my next purchase.

  • Buying experience

    5 out of 5 5.0

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Didn't buy from a dealer

Did you buy this car new?

    Yes

    What price did you pay?

    £13,200

When did you buy the car?

    October 2014

Did you get a good deal and why?

Yes. I paid £5,000 less than the list price off an online dealer. The Ford dealerships, as usual were useless and were unable to match the price. Instead of making any effort to try any price match, they simply stopped returning my calls.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Good online price. Cheap running costs with good performance. Drives better than other small cars tested. I was impressed the standard level of equipment the Titanium model receives.

    What was the dealer like?

I've had Fords before. I love the cars, but the franchised dealers are woeful. The experience has been the same with the Fiesta. I needed the windscreen replacing recent (stone chip). The dealership couldn’t tell me the replacement cost, or whether having Autoglass would invalidate the warranty.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Its suppressing. On the motorway, at 70mph I will get just under 60mpg on a steady run. However around down, it is remarkably quick off the line and there is plenty of torque for higher speeds. I've given a few 2.0TDI drivers a red face at traffic lights! In terms of economy, the talking point of an Ecoboost engine, without careful driving, I get around 38mpg in stop-start, rush hour Manchester traffic and 59mpg on a 70mph motorway cruise. I average mid - late 40's depending on the mix of citycentre/motorway driving.

    What's it like to park?

Easy, its small with a good turning circle.

  • Living with it

    5 out of 5 5.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

No, but then its done less than 3,000 miles.

What's most practical about your car?

The Ford Sync and Bluetooth is great.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Too hard to pick one. Top of the tree, I suppose are cruise control, climate control, hill hold, Sony radio, auto dimming rear view mirror, electic folding mirrors.
