In their own words

Had 2 Mk1 Focus's prior and loved them. The MK3 is larger and feels more refined to drive. It is very comfortable, parts are cheap, and has 1 of the best stock radios I have ever heard in a car.
The estate boot is enormous and low floor makes getting heavy items in easy.
Being a Ford, its engine will last forever if serviced correctly. The main issue though is bodywork related.. it leaks like a colander. Ford used poor-quality sealant on the panels, which starts to fail after 8 or so years. A problem my 20 year old mk1s never had. The metalwork is also wafer-thin, feels as though its made of baking trays.
They are prone to coolant leaks which is easy to fix, but also steering rack failures which can cost £1k + Plus being a Ford, Rust is always a looming threat for a 2nd hand car.
