  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

Nothing really. There are so many on the roads, it largely gets overlooked.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They all like it. No one has had anything bad to say.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Possibly. My only criticism is that the interior quality lets the vehicle down. It has an intermittent door rattle. Although the sound system is excellent it is let down by door panel rattles at volume. This wouldn’t stop me from buying another though. The other characteristics of the car more than make up for the car's minor faults.

What are you likely to buy next?

Focus ST or if i'm any better off, probably a 3 series to see what all the fuss is about.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Didn't buy from a dealer

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £7,500

When did you buy the car?

    March 2012

Did you get a good deal and why?

The price was competitive compared to other similar vehicles in the area.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

I decided to get a focus, mainly because it was relativley cheap to buy (compared to it's rivals), was good to drive and would cost as much to service/maintain as a German Rival.

    What was the dealer like?

I went to a few Ford garages, and the sales people were quite condescending. One salesman demanded to know my annual salary before he would even allow me to look in the vehicle! In the end I purchased the vehicle from Bury Car Centre.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

For a 1.6 it's quite impressive and certainly feels quicker than the stats suggest. It cruises well in the motorway and is happy around town. My criticism would be the engine noise can be intrusive when accelerating. The best characteristic by far is the way the Focus handles. It always brings a smile to my face on a twisty B road! Economy can drop to the late 20's around town, but mid 40's is possible on a motorway run if you stick to the speed limit!

    What's it like to park?

The steering is light at low speeds and it's easy to park.

Have you had any problems with the car?

I've had the car for 8 months and done 10,000 miles. So far it hasn’t let me down, and is still running well.

What's most practical about your car?

    The huge boot!

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

    Heated front windscreen.
