In their own words

My 4th focus and this latest one is very disappointing. Not as good as my 2011 1.6 tcdi Zetec sport. I regret selling it. Biggest gripe on this new "advanced" model is the MPG figures quoted 65-84 are completely unobtainable - my best has been on a flat road averaging 50mph in 8C has been 64 MPG, around town it is 49-53 MPG Last model I got between 68-72 MPG Light and fog light switch is hidden behind steering wheel, so you have to take your eyes off the road to operate. Also climate heater controls requires you to take your eyes off the road to adjust. Rear windscreen wiper is a 8mm rocker switch on end of stalk. Poor lights for night driving. Smaller boot and cramped space for rear passengers. The heated front windscreen has always been a big plus but on this model, wiper blades seem to be longer and in frost conditions wiper blades seem to bow, so cleaning windscreen is impossible in frosty conditions. Resale prices are ALWAYS low.

How reliable do you find the car?

Auto stop/start works when it wants to, a waste of time so switch it off. This must drain battery and starter motor if a lot of city driving.

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

Why did I get this car? Because of loyalty to the focus, the heated front windscreen, rear parking sensors, (which should be standard equipment), being conned by Fords MPG figures. I did think about getting a VW Golf or SEAT Leon,
