Ford 2005 Mondeo Estate

Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

  • Economy

    Value

    4 out of 5 4.0

Depreciation is bad, but this is good news when buying as you get more gadgets for your money than on a standard C class Mercedes, costing considerably more.

  • On the road

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

Executive express, very nimble despite it's size & weight.

    Performance

    5 out of 5 5.0

Now fixed - performance restored, very quick now and enough diesel torque to pull a tank!

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    3 out of 5 3.0

Disappointing with faulty EGR valve affecting many, many TDCi Focus & Mondeo cars, but when they work, it's a hell of a car for the price!

    Image

    3 out of 5 3.0

This new breed of Mondeo is as good now as any Audi A4 or VW Passat, but it's a Ford and that badge will be it's biggest enemy. This model will not earn you any respect from anyone.

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

Very comfortable with 8- way adjustable, electric leather drivers seat.

  • Security and Service

    Service

    3 out of 5 3.0

Still evident that Ford dealers are at the mercy of Ford

  • Problems and Ownership

    Problems

    Engine

Since writing the previous review, the TDCi EGR valve has been replaced - wow ! Superb performance - and no black smoke!!!

    Other

If you can see through the fleet car image, this is a superb car, if it had an Audi or VW badge on it, it would be worshipped by millions worldwide for it's driving ability, performance, economy and useful gadgets, but it doesn't!!!
