  • Summary

    3 out of 5 3.0

What does this car say about you?

Company car driver or family man, of which I'm neither.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Nice looking but it's too big, some jokes as it's the same length as a short wheel base transit van!

Would you buy this car again and why?

No, depreciation is horrific, Seats are not as comfy as reviews make out and dont hold you properly feel yourself sliding forward during braking, and you have to brace yourself in corners definitely sports seats in name only. and handling on bumpy B roads not as controlled as other brands, overall its a decent car with good spec just too many design niggles ( and the sheer size!) count against it in my books.

What are you likely to buy next?

Not currently sure but will be soon to avoid further depreciation.

  • Buying experience

    3 out of 5 3.0

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £3,200

When did you buy the car?

    December 2015

Did you get a good deal and why?

Paid slightly over the odds, dealer would not budge on price to allow for £350 it cost of the cambelt and was unwilling to get the work done either, After thinking overnight I accepted this as car was in genuinely good condition otherwise .

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Needed a reliable and economical car and at the time this seemed the best deal with FSH having had ford's before I knew it would be reliable.

    What was the dealer like?

Genuine but not willing to budge to allow for additional work required and unwilling to get the work done either.

  • Driving it

    3 out of 5 3.0

    What's it like to drive?

140 bhp tdci can be described as just about adequate due to sheer size and weight of the car, much livelier in the focus with a lighter body shell, handling nice on smooth roads but on bumpy B Roads it can skip over bumps making the car feel twitchy even at modest speeds you feel the car's computers taking over as suspension can't cope with the size of the car on its own.

    What's it like to park?

Difficult, good visibility but... far to wide for car parking spaces leaving you having to squeeze out of the car in 90% of car parks and multi story car parks require lots of shunting to avoid the walls, bonnet slopes away so you have no idea where the front end is and for some reason whoever ordered the car failed to spec parking sensors which is ridiculous considering the rest of the cars spec so reversing into a space is fraught with the risk of nudging something as the rear slopes up.

  • Living with it

    3 out of 5 3.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

In dash 6 CD changer has lost 1 CD slot and some flaking paint on the drivers interior door handle and alloy wheel paint but acceptable as it was bought second hand and still scrubs up ok.

What's most practical about your car?

Massive boot ideal for weekends away or just the weekly shop, and if driven gently will give 612 miles to a tank at 47.8 mpg for £63.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

More toys than you can shake a stick at, Cruise control Auto lights and wipers and decent quality sound system with DAB and mini computer in the dash that tells you pretty much everything you could need to know.
