Other Ford Mondeo (2007 - 2014) models:

  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

Someone who likes performance but won't want to show it off in bright orange! It also isn't loud until you actually plant your foot. Useful if you happen to stumble across plod without them noticing.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Love it. They think its a comfortable family car. Despite the fact it'll beat most things away from the lights that I've come across.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Without a second glace. It looks good, sounds good, goes well and corners and stops brilliantly for a big car...

What are you likely to buy next?

A newer eco-boost Mondeo - purely for fuel savings - however until this one finally dies I won't be getting rid of it!

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Didn't buy from a dealer

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £5,000

When did you buy the car?

    February 2013

Did you get a good deal and why?

Excellent car - paid a small amount for a lot of car due to the engine being thirsty - think carefully about diesels - if you do little mileage (less than 15-20k) then the cost of buying a running a diesel (matched with depreciation) means the petrols are actually cheaper to run.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

The engine makes this car... 5 pot burble makes it a fantastic car on the open road...

    What was the dealer like?

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Amazing car to drive... torque low down is amazing. If you buy a 2.5T then for £320 buy a Bluefin by Superchips - this will transform it into a beast - 265bhp and 400nm torque - means that overtaking becomes so much easier and more impressive. (Also gives me about 2mpg more).

    What's it like to park?

Awkward to see out the back, but makes it easier with parking sensors front and rear. Haven't bumped it yet - and electric folding mirrors do help if it's really tight!

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Boot CD changer has packed up - seems to be a common problem with the Alpine unit - however I still have MP3 CD and also an AUX socket in the glove box.

What's most practical about your car?

Load space is huge. Massive boot and managed to bring home a fridge freezer no problem! Seats are spacious and really comfortable car to cruise on the motorway. You get out feeling like you never left!

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

I love the corner adaptive lights, makes spotting kerbs, etc at night a lot easier. Rear parking sensors on the back make backing it up a lot easier (rear visibility isn't great - esp with privacy glass).
