Very unusual engine noise, which garage is unable to diagnose.

Replaced cat convertor, alternator, air con erratic, abs and other warning lights flash on and off when they fancy. Bought car for 10 grand just over 4 years ago with 24,000 on clock. Only done 60,000 now. Spent 000s on it. Too many to list.
