Hyundai Atoz
  • Economy

    Value

    4 out of 5 4.0

Lots of kit for the price. Excellent 3-year warranty (just as well - see below).

    Costs

    3 out of 5 3.0

Excellent fuel economy and low insurance, but servicing and parts are dear.

  • On the road

    Driving

    2 out of 5 2.0

OK around town, but steering is lifeless and engine is noisy. Feels unstable at speed and is affected by cross winds.

    Performance

    2 out of 5 2.0

Good enough in town, but slow on the open road.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    2 out of 5 2.0

Not good. I expected better from a Far Eastern manufacturer. Our previous Hyundai was much better.

    Image

    2 out of 5 2.0

Not very appealing styling, but alloys and mica blue paintwork make a difference.

    Comfort

    2 out of 5 2.0

Uncomfortable after longer journeys. Driving postion is poor, but the seats are good.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    2 out of 5 2.0

Immobiliser only; door locks weak. But the styling is a natural deterrent!

    Service

    5 out of 5 5.0

Local dealer (Brooklyn Motors, Seaford, East Sussex) has been excellent.

  • Problems and Ownership

    Problems

    Engine

Delayed acceleration; engine cuts out (fixed twice, now reoccuring); shuddering at low revs.

    Other

Exhaust system. New brake pads and discs at 33,500 miles, despite careful driving!
