In their own words

I wanted a really economical car due to the spiralling coat of fuel but the electrics I could afford didn't have enough range. The car is very comfortable and laden with equipment that all works very well. It's designed for comfort and economy and if that's what you want, it's ideal.

Negatives? The boot is big enough but it's quite shallow between the boot floor and the parcel shelf so it has its limitations. My son has an i30 which theoretically has a smaller boot but in practical terms it's bigger. For a car with so much equipment, I was surprised it doesn't have automatic wipers on this model. The foot parking brake is horrible but most of the time I just leave the automatic transmission in P when parked so unless I'm on a hill, the parking brake is never used. I can't really think of anything else.

I'm quite an economical driver and I bought this to save money so I don't suppose it's entirely surprising that I am getting good mpg. The average mpg I've achieved so far is a high of 83mpg and a low of 76mpg. These figures have mostly been done on motorways and country roads. The car analyses your driving style and it currently has me as 96% economical, 4% normal and 0% aggressive so clearly I'm driving carefully to get these figures. The adaptive cruise control is great but if there is a lot of traffic on the motorway, you shouldn't use it if you want better mpg as it tends to drive more aggressively than me and certainly hurts the economy. I'm finding the added benefit of driving so economically is that it's not in any way stressful. I'm perfectly relaxed driving this car and I arrive at destinations feeling totally serene.

Overall, this is a fantastic car. At 75-80mpg, it's a perfect option until electric or hydrogen cars become more viable. I can't recommend it highly enough.
