Hyundai Santa Fe review

In their own words

Bought the car in July 2021 with 26000 miles and full service history. At 44000 miles the AWD syatem has failed causing unrepairable damage to the rear differential. To add insult to injury, the turbo is also on its way out (buzzing sound from 1500rpm). Hyundai quoted me £5000 to repair it, including parts and labour. The airvents on the dashboard have also started to rattle and i have to tap them to stop the noise. One of the interior lights also stopped working.

I’m sorry but i wasn’t expecting anything to fail at this kind of age and mileage. Fortunately I have a spare car. A 2003 BMW 320d with 155000 miles on the clock. And rather embarrassingly for the Hyundai, the BMW is much nicer to drive, has no rattles or noises and has never caused me major problems in the 10 years i owned it. All this despite being 20 years old.

I knew i should have gone for the X5 instead of the Santa Fe but I gave Hyundai the benefit of the doubt. Now I regret that decision deeply.

I will never touch another Hyundai in my life.
