What does this car say about you?

If you want to stand out from the crowd this is a car for you.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Everyone love the Veloster's looks and the interior comforts.

Would you buy this car again and why?

I would definetly buy this car again or look at the Turbo version. I think most other car makers would find the price + spec + 5 yr warranty + 5 yr RAC hard to match.

What are you likely to buy next?

Veloster 2.0 if they ever make one.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £13,500

When did you buy the car?

    April 2013

Did you get a good deal and why?

I got an excellent px deal on my old 56 car meaning I got exactly what I wanted after a small amount of haggling.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

The look of this is a head turner like it or not. With not many on the roads you'll stand out from the crowd and the level of extra is hard to beat for the price.

    What was the dealer like?

The dealer, a car supermarket, was excellent. There was no pressure to buy and once I decided which car I wanted they did everything possible to make it a smooth transaction.

    What's it like to drive?

There isn't that sense of torque you'll get from a Focus ST or Golf GTI. However, this is a) A 1.6 not a 2.5 or 2.0. b) This is meant to be an Eco car. That being said the car is nippy and I'm sure the official figures are incorrect; you'll get to 60mph in under 9 sec's but you'll struggle to get anywhere near 43mpg. Around town I average between 27mpg-32mpg, motorway I can push 35mpg-37mpg. People look at the car and assume because of it's looks it going to be a rocket, it's not but it's not the cars' fault it's because car makers have been churning clones of eachothers boxes. Hyundai have finally broken that mold we just have to look at this car with a different frame of mind.

    What's it like to park?

Parking is a breeze, the steering is light even at parking speed. Just watch those pretty alloy wheels.

Have you had any problems with the car?

The previous owner was a lease company and they must have had the wheels spray painted. A poor job as some paint peel when the car was jet washed. I didn't mind too much as I planned on having them resprayed a different colour anyway.

What's most practical about your car?

A sporty looking 4 seater with real room in the back. I tried out an RCZ and a Scirroco both failed my back set test. The boot is also huge for a car this size. The other day I had to pick up a 45 gallon drum BBQ in a box, with the seats folded down it went in with out a problem and still had room down the side for other other things. I have learnt that it best to remove the rear head rest when folding the seat down or you'll have to move the front seats so far forward you'll be very cramped.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

It has a great audio system. I had an Audi S4 with a Bose system whilst having having the wheels on the Veloster resprayed and in my opinion as a DJ the Veloster has a much better sound. The Panoramic roof is another thing I love about the.
