• Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

Sophisticated and stylish. I always keep it clean, so it always looks good. Lexus oozes class and if you have never driven one, an original Japanese version that is, then you need to try one.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Huge, but beautiful. Mine is a mid blue colour so the additions on the Sport version really stand out. Friends always enjoy the experience is the Lexus.

Would you buy this car again and why?

I would be very picky, as Japanese versions are built better than european ones and have better features. Insurance and parts can be an issue, now that these types of cars are seen as imports as the market has changed. I would test the european Lexus thoroughly before choosing the right model.

What are you likely to buy next?

Lexus RX version if a 7 seat verison comes out otherwise I will look at the Audi Q7 or BMW X5.

    Didn't buy from a dealer

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    £2,300

When did you buy the car?

    June 2010

Did you get a good deal and why?

Absolutely, the bodywork and interior was in fantastic condition. It had been owned by a Lexus Club Owner, so had full history. Drove faultlessly and was a very smooth drive.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

The luxury features, enjoy big quiet engines but only do short commutes, so not bothered about the fuel. Overall look and build quality.

    What was the dealer like?

    N/A

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Quiet and smooth. A bit on the heavy side, as I also own a Soarer and they have the same engine. You can feel the difference in weight when pulling away from standstill. The luxury makes up for the negatives.

    What's it like to park?

Appropriate power steering that is in line with the weight and size of the car. I find it easy although having parking sensors helps due to the size.

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

No, nothing it has 130K on it now, bought it with 118k. Just the usual tryes, wipers and service to do.

What's most practical about your car?

It is not really a practical car in today's meaning of practical. The size and luxury seating, sits 5 very comfortably and outweighs everything else. You drive a car that puts a smile on your face and never makes you want to get frustrated like others who lose their mind in road rage. You do not need to stoop to their level.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Heated seats and touch screen controls.
