Mazda CX-5 (2012 - 2017) 2.2d SE-L Nav 5d Owner Review

Never ever ever again will I even look at a Mazda! During a long drive from London to the UK my 2.2 TD CX5 only over 7 years old and with barely 100k miles on the clock, suddenly came to a stop on the motorway moments after hearing engine knocks and the low oil pressure warning coming on. Got it towed to an official Mazda workshop where it was diagnosed with excessive wear of the camshaft bearings, a manufacturing defect according to the head tech there which led to low oil pressure, and therefore also likely requiring a new camshaft, turbos, pistons etc.. basically the whole engine was to throw away. Mazda rejected any responsibility and contribution towards a repair (ranging anywhere between £5,000 and £10,000) as the car is out of warranty. Stay the hell away.
