Other Mercedes-Benz C-Class (2000 - 2008) models:

  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

Um it's in dark metalic blue (actually exatly the same as the one in the photo) so it is fairly quiet - although being a merc I suppose it projects a classy-ish imagine - but what I like about it is it is discreet and subtle - not flash in any way.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

That it must have cost at least another ten or twenty grnade and that I've come into some money!!!!

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes to the make and model. I find the petrol consumption upsetting - so would buy the same model but with the diesel engine.

What are you likely to buy next?

Nothing on the horizon but assuming I still have the dogs then another c class but as mentioned above, I'd get the diesel variant.

  • Buying experience

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £9,950

When did you buy the car?

    September 2006

Did you get a good deal and why?

Excellent deal from Roneo Car Centre in London. He sells ex lease cars with full main dealer service history at trade prices. RAC report said I should have paid at least £3k more from a MB dealer!

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

    What was the dealer like?

Very friendly, trustworthy and honest. Would readily go back for another car next time round.

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

Coming from a Peogeut 306 1.9 diesel this car feels like an ocean liner - i.e. it cruises beautifully and is luxurious around town. It's not great at stopping elegantly which I think is due to the sheer weight of the thing. Plenty of mid range power when you need it (assuming you don't watch the pertol guage race towards empty!).

    What's it like to park?

Still getting used to the size of the thing, but good power steering and electric folding wing mirrors are useful for very tight spots!

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

    So far so good.

What's most practical about your car?

Space and comfort plus practicalities of leather (I have two dogs).

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Heated seats! Plus the auto lights, wipers (I know, little boys toys!).
