As an old car enthusiast I was advised by many people to buy a W124 as it is known to be the “best Mercedes ever built”, I was sceptical. I had driven a W210 and a W211 and thought that Mercedes Benz were over hyped cars and not really worth the money. Eventually I decided to buy a W124 and It was worlds apart compared to the other 2 that I had driven. After driving it as a daily driver since I bought it I haven’t encountered any issues with the car despite having 208,000 miles on the clock. It appears that Mercedes Benz have lost their touch after 1995, I personally wouldn’t consider owning a Mercedes Benz after the W201/W124/W140 era
