Mercedes-Benz GLE review (2024)

Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

In their own words

The 2 litre, 245HP diesel engine gives all the day to day urgency you really expect from a large SUV. The auto gearbox is slick and the overall handling isnt too bad for such a big car. If only it had air suspension I would have rates this car higher. The fuel economy is almost as good as the GLE250D that I owned before this GLE. The ave 37 mpg is not what the manufacturer claims but for a car that weighs over 2 tonnes its not that bad. The interior of the GLE in my opinion is excellent. Its very well equiped, has large supportive leather seats, its fairly quiet and has loads of legroom, front and back. The console panel is a chic, multifuncional, flat touch screen which is easily formatted to display all the information you need. It extends infront of the passenger seat which creates a big temptation for them to fiddle when you a driving. Grrŕ! The build quality is typical Mercedes and I expect it to be very durable. I took out the MB service package which works out around £500/annum. Again, I am happy with that. I dont know how this car was driven in the 7,500 miles before I bought it but it suggests I will be lucky to get much more than 12,000 miles out of the 275/50 R20 OEM tyres. At +£900/set thats not great. Defo try another brand next time.

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

Biggest disappointment is the quality. It feels every pot hole and road imperfection. This is my 5th Mercedes in succesion and the ride on this car is not typical Mercedes.
