What's it like to drive?
THE 1.6 ENGINE IS NEITHER WILLING OR ECONOMICAL. THE HANDLING IS VERY GOOD AND NOT HARSH. THE HOOD IS VERY QUITE WHEN UP ON HE MOTORWAY.
What's it like to park?
Luckily the are reversing sensors as standard.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
YOU HAVE TO BE VERY CAREFUL BUYING A MINI OUT OF WARRENTY. THERE ARE MANY COMMON PROBLEMS WITH THE MINI. FRONT SUSPENSION BUSHES FAIL AND KNOCK OUT THE EXPENSIVE RUN FLAT TYRES. FLUID ENGINE MOUNTINGS FAIL. GEARBOXES AND DIFFS SELF DISTRUCT. THE GETRAG GEARBOX POST JULY 2004 IS £1000 MINI RECON PROVIDING IT DOESN'T NEED GEARS. THEN IT IS MAIN DEALER AT APPROX £2000 AND THEN THE FITTING. THE UPPER STEEERING KNUCKLE ALSO FAILS AND IS VERY DIFFICULT TO CHANGE JUST SOME OF THE PROBLEMS YOU CAN GET. IF YOU BUY THEN GET A GOOD WARRANTY. JUST BECAUSE BMW ARE BEHIND THIS CAR DON'T EXPECT UNBUSTABLE RELIABILITY.
What's most practical about your car?
I love the electric roof and the retro chrome dials This mini had full leather, aircon and a really niffty heated front screen. Love the mini image.
