Other Mitsubishi Colt (2004 - 2013) models:

  • Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

This 5 door model says you are sensible and frugal with your money and that you know how to get the best deal of everyone who has bought a supermini. It's just as good as a Yaris (better equipment on the COLT basic model) and a Honda Jazz but A LOT cheaper OVERALL!!! There aren't loads of these cars on the road so they look select and stand out (esp. the 5 door shape)

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Family think it's an MPV when they ride in it. They like it.

Would you buy this car again and why?

I would definitely buy this car again. I will be interested to see what happens when I put a lot of miles on it (which I shall). I would not service the car at Mitsubishi as they are too expensive!!!! (the only fault I can find with them).

What are you likely to buy next?

The same if it can handle high mileage ok - otherwise another Toyota Yaris which has an indestructable engine (but I would have less room in a Yaris - particularly in the back)

  • Buying experience

    5 out of 5 5.0

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchise

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £5,995

When did you buy the car?

    June 2006

Did you get a good deal and why?

Was happy with the deal at the time - was a lot cheaper than a brand new one and only had 6,000 odd miles on it.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Economy, low tax, low insurance, Japanese reliablity and roomy size of cabin and rear.

    What was the dealer like?

    Very good local Mitsubishi dealer.

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

Excellent 'high up' drive (feels like your driving an MPV), bit shaky in the wind due to its high but keeps up with everyone on the motorway. Better to drive than my previous Toyota Yaris (which itself was a fantastic car).

    What's it like to park?

Easy to park and especially to reverse because the rear windscreen IS the very back!

  • Living with it

    5 out of 5 5.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Nothing serious has gone wrong and the car is now nearly 2 years old and I hope it doesn't. However, the glovebox mechanism was fixed under warranty with an after-market part. A known fault.

What's most practical about your car?

Everything is practical. It's a great, cheap new car with an MPV type feel to it - both driving it and as a passenger in the back. The view of the road ahead from the back seats is superb as you are higher up than the front passengers.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

All the gadgets are cool. A LOT of standard equipment for an entry-level model - A/C, ABS, C/L, variable speed intermittent wipers (excellent!) and loads to play with on the onboard computer.
