Other Nissan Almera (2000 - 2006) models:

  • Summary

    3 out of 5 3.0

What does this car say about you?

A very stupid person - who buys on impulse.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Far too slow, uncomftable. My mum says the parking sensors on her focus c-max are miles better.

Would you buy this car again and why?

No! Too slow, too annoying (in every way)

What are you likely to buy next?

Audi A3/BMW 1 Series in the next month or two.

  • Buying experience

    4 out of 5 4.0

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchise

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £5,300

When did you buy the car?

    December 2007

Did you get a good deal and why?

Yes, the dealer had it priced well but to be honest I think it had been there a while and he wanted to get rid.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Dirt cheap for age, plus it came with tonnes of gadgets; I thought it would make an ideal first car for myself.

    What was the dealer like?

Helpful until I got the keys then absolutely useless.

  • Driving it

    3 out of 5 3.0

    What's it like to drive?

Handles well through the corners but the 1.5 engine couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding. The engine gets rowdy at speed, the suspension is far too stiff and the ride is awful past 60mph.

    What's it like to park?

Should be a piece of cake, but the parking sensors are too sensitive and give the 'your too close' beep when there are miles to go. The sensors don't switch off and make the most annoying beep everytime I reverse out of my gate.

  • Living with it

    2 out of 5 2.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

The interior light bulb gave up; sent it to the dealer who destroyed most of the interior didn't fix the light, broke the handbrake and put 300 miles on the clock.

What's most practical about your car?

Fairly big boot, lots of cubby holes.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Climate control - and even that is a pain in the bum!
