In their own words

Used as a first car and something to learn in. Expensive tax, but cheap insurance relative to a lot of similar cars (think Zetec S Fiestas, C2 GTs etc) so that balances out a little bit. It's not great on fuel, it's not that fast, it's actually somewhat uncomfortable thanks to the 16" wheels and stiffer suspension that comes with the SR, however these come into their own on B roads, where the relatively low power and low weight mean you can have fun while not even breaking the 60 limit. Boot space is great, especially if the rear seats are moved forwards, however rear legroom (even with the bench as far back as possible) is somewhat lacking - ok for shorter people, but if your commute involves giving a lift to 4 burly rugby players, things are going to get uncomfortable rapidly. Also a small gripe is that there's only 1 12v outlet, located in the front, so if you wanted one as a family car the kids in the back would be stuck without chargers (probably less of an issue back in 2005 than today).
