You can get these really cheap and a lot better 4x4 for the price than a Toyota or Pajero.
Costs
Fuel can be expensive, but servicing is cheap if you can do it yourself and con't use original Nissan parts.

Driving
Once you realise the size of the vehicle it handles really well either going through town or on the motorway.
Performance
When you think of the size and weight of the vehicle it is quite amazing, but watch the heavy right foot at the lights.

Never have had a problem with starting and never let me down whatever the weather or road conditions

THE BEAST! Low for a 4x4 and wide.
Comfort
The best 4x4 for comfort, but as I have had 3 of these cars I might be biased.

Security
Nissan own alarm/ immobiliser is rubbish and NOT Thatcum approved. Will have to fit you own for the insurance companies.
Service
Don't use Nissan's own garages if you can. There are a lot of independants that specialise in 4x4's at a lot cheaper price.

Engine
The 4.2 pertol will never let you down. Will go on for 300,000+ without burning oil or leaking water.
Other
Expect a big fuel bill. But if you want good mpg buy a Mini
